Ever since quadcopters became available, filmmakers have been able to put their creativity in practice without having to hop on an airplane or a helicopter. The funny thing is that quadcopters look like real helicopters, but you get to stay on the ground.
Best Quadcopter With Camera For 4K Filming
There are plenty of devices that can help video-making enthusiasts take their skills to the next level. Quadcopters, hexacopters, and octocopters are all propeller configured devices that are suitable for professional filming.
Although the design, components and materials play an important role in a drone’s construction, what truly matters to filmmakers is the quality of the built-in camera. As viewers and Internet users all over the world are familiar with many levels of video quality, HD resolution stopped being enough for many of them.
Drones with 4K resolution cameras are the real deal at the moment. They require a large budget from those who want to benefit from the device’s advantages, but they are worth every penny.
What to look for in the best filming quadcopter?
The market offers all sorts of drones and quadcopters, but you must choose a model that is suitable for your needs. For example, if you know that you will be filming outdoors most of the time, you must focus on finding a drone that is not very sensitive to the wind and other weather conditions.
Depending on your budget, you should be looking for advanced control features that will allow you to locate your drone immediately, to control it even outside the line of site and so on. This is why drones with GPS features and advanced controllers are recommended.
Camera drones are easy to operate once you get used to them, but taking steady pictures or shooting videos will be difficult at first. If you want to avoid capturing blurry pictures when flying your drone for the first time, you should get one with automated flight stabilization or a good gimbal.
If you are planning on using a camera quadcopter for professional purposes, you definitely need to think about storage. If the drone is equipped with a micro-SD card, you have nothing to worry about.
Also, the battery life of a drone is something that every buyer should think about. Again, that depends on how much filming time you require and of course, on the budget.
The camera’s resolution is extremely important if the quality of the image matters to you. With a 4K video camera and at least 12 megapixels, you will certainly be able to deliver excellent results.
The best quadcopter for 4K filming
People have different opinions when it comes to aerial photography and filming. But one thing is for sure: 4K is everyone’s favorite format. It provides realistic images, true colors, incredible motions and small details that we all love.
Therefore, aerial photography and videography are at their best when using 4K cameras. If you are interested in buying the best 4K quadcopter out there, you might be a little confused by all the beautiful presentations out there.
In reality, there is only one product that beats all the others so far and that is the DJI Inspire 1 Pro with dual remotes. Although it competes with the Phantom Professional & Advanced which also has a 4K camera, this high-end device has it all:
- 4K video camera
- 12 megapixels
- YouTube streaming
- RTF
- Dual pilot
- 18 minutes flight time
- 100 Watt battery charger
- 6000 mAh LiPo 2S controller battery
- Lightbridge technology
- 3-axis stabilization gimbal
- GPS system
The DJI Inspire 1 Pro is smart, beautifully designed and as advanced as it can get. Its propellers and platform are made of carbon fiber and its lens is comprised of 9 different elements.
It benefits from Adobe DNG Raw Support and it is connected to a powerful app that allows users to easily control the drone.
Its user interface is easy to use and to comprehend and ready to be updated whenever new features are released by the manufacturer.
The dual pilot is something that all drone operators would enjoy while working. It is so much easier when you can fly it and someone else can take steady snaps or videos.
When the GPS functions are unavailable, the Video Positioning system takes over, providing an accurate position.
More than that, the device’s sensors automatically detect the altitude. This way, whenever the quadcopter reaches the ground, the legs are automatically lowered.
The Inspire 1 Pro is definitely the best 4K quadcopter for filming. It is resistant, intelligent and beautiful and represents the best solution for advanced videographers. 🙂
