Since this diamond was given by Mr. Richard Burton to his wife to be Elizabeth Tayloras an engagement ring, it was named as Taylor-Burton Diamond. Later in the year 1987, Elizabeth Taylor had sold out the diamond for an auction and the amount was contributed to build a hospital in Africa.
