Character Inspiration
Caramel Arrow Cookie appears to be based on the style and culture of Goguryeo and Silla, two ancient predecessors to Korea and making up two-thirds of the Three Kingdoms of Korea time period, despite the fact that many of the Dark Cacao Kingdom’s cookies were inspired by Korea’s Joseon era. She appears to be wearing a jougwan, which is a piece of gear typical of Goguryeo, and a sleeveless dapho or possibly a jeonbok overcoat, which is frequently associated with soldiers and knights in Silla.
Brown Arrow Cookie’s bow appears to be a stylized gakgung, also known as a Korean horn bow. This type of reflex bow is distinguished by its relatively small size and powerful firing ability. While archery has always been popular in Korea, its use in battle and warfare was particularly common in earlier times (including the Three Kingdoms period), in part because of the country’s mountainous terrain, which is similar to the mountains of the Dark Cacao Kingdom in its own right.
Appearance
Brown Arrow The dough is a warm-toned, dark brown color, and the Cookie is an average-height cookie that is relatively thin. Her brow is creased in a resolute expression, and her steely eyes are a deep black with bronze reflections. Her mouth usually has a slight, humorless tint that looks deep plum.
Overall, the design of the Caramel Arrow Cookie uses a distinct cloud-like design motif that is reminiscent of the stylized, swirling clouds that are famously depicted in a great deal of East Asian art. Brown Arrow Cookie has very long hair that falls to her feet even when pulled up in a bun and is styled into a cloud-like swirl of curls at the ends. Her long hair is double-tied; the length is pulled back into a high ponytail, and the top of her head is covered with a bun. A lifted bang rests against her forehead and drops into two curving strands that layer her left eye. Two untied strands of hair border her face on either side, and the right side of her hair is fully pulled back into a ponytail. Her hair has a base color of stark obsidian and is decorated with spiraling streaks of vibrant caramel brown that resemble brown sugar spreading among dark tapioca pearls.

Caramel Arrow Cookie is a determined, utterly devoted, and tough-minded person. She is as devoted to her country as one can be, and when it and her allies are in danger, she won’t back down as the First Watcher of the Dark Cacao Kingdom and the commander of its most elite troops. Caramel Arrow Cookie isn’t one to hold her tongue—or her bow—when her dignity or that of those she cherishes is insulted, so her passion can frequently overflow and result in actions driven solely by her strong emotions and unwavering beliefs.
As evidenced by her initial doubt and subsequent self-assurance after being expelled from the Black Citadel and demoted in Snow on the Black Wall, the First Watcher is highly motivated and is always the one to stoke the flames of hope for discouraged allies or even her own dejected self when things seem grim. Nearly comparable to the formidable badlands of the Dark Cacao Kingdom, which Dark Cacao Cookie himself alludes to before banishing Caramel Arrow Cookie into the wilderness, is such a fervent yet dignified soul.

At the very edge of the continent, atop the tall wall of the Black Citadel, stands a figure frowning into the dark. Night and day, all year round, Caramel Arrow Cookie, the First Watcher of the Dark Cacao Kingdom, will always protect the Cookies from the horrors of the Licorice Sea until the very last crumb.
Shortly before the events of Snow on the Black Wall, the Black Citadel’s First Watcher Caramel Arrow Cookie had put in efforts to assist the forsaken habitants of the kingdom by sharing with them her own allocations during her personal time. Affogato Cookie, seeking to be rid of those who could meddle with his plans of betrayal, claimed to King Dark Cacao Cookie’s court that this was an act of avoiding her commitments to instead spend respite time in the villages. He also mentions to Dark Cacao Cookie that she had been passing out rations that were “likely stolen from the citadel’s pantries”.
Upon Caramel Arrow Cookie’s attempts to safeguard herself and elucidate that she was fairly aiding the kingdom’s people, Affogato Cookie contorted her words into insolence towards those present; he posited that she was “accusing [the] humble court of failing to serve [their] Cookies” and “implying that His Majesty’s aides are selfish, greedy, and conniving” before advising Dark Cacao Cookie to expel her from the Citadel entirely. The King agreed, telling Caramel Arrow Cookie that her spirit had “always been one with the wilds” and that she had no need to return. She begrudgingly obeyed her King’s orders and exited from the Citadel. After her exile, she persisted to spend time in the wilderness in order to protect the Dark Cacao Kingdom and its citizens in her own way.
