Factors that Decide the Worth of a YuGiOh Card
Scarcity or condition of the card
When trying to estimate a Yu-Gi-Oh! card’s worth, there are three basic considerations. The most crucial factor to take into account is how uncommon the card is (in terms of population). The subset of rarities in each pack varies. In general, a card is more uncommon if it contains more foiling or holographic accents.
There will always be cards that are more frequent and less likely to have considerable value in any one pack.
The card’s overall worth will be significantly impacted by the condition. According to the date the card was printed, it is generally accepted that the market’s supply of top-graded cards decreases with age.
- Condition
It’s critical to comprehend the distinction between graded and raw YuGiOh cards when collecting these cards.
“Raw” refers to a card that is unofficially authenticated and ungraded on a scale of 1 to 10 based on its condition by a business like BGS, PSA, or SGC. Raw cards have a significantly larger risk than graded cards, but the reward might be much bigger if you locate one in excellent condition. On the open market, cards that have already been graded fetch a higher price because you know exactly what you are getting.
The same rules apply when analyzing a raw card to determine its worth in relation to the total number of cards produced. The four key elements to keep in mind while purchasing a raw card are surface, centering, edges, and corners.
- Scarcity
Due to their rarity, some YuGiOh cards are worth more than others. The Legend of Blue-Eyes White Dragon, the first main set of Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading cards is a hard-to-find set, and top-condition copies of those cards are getting harder to find. Players must really utilize their cards in games at their friends’ homes or nearby game shops because YuGiOh is a trading card game. Cards may unavoidably sustain damage when being used, traded, or even just transported. A mint copy of a card gets harder to find every time it sustains damage.
