Xanthium

In reality, cockleburs are also known as xanthium and are native to North America and some regions of Asia. The fruit is yellow and has a spiky, scabrous appearance that resembles a young hedgehog.

Due to its color and shape, this fruit is frequently utilized in Chinese medicine and has a special name, Cang Er Zi. In Western nations, Xanthium is a pain reliever that can be used to lessen the soreness and headaches that come with nasal congestion.

According to some reports, xanthium is poisonous; however, the toxicity can be removed by washing the fruit in freshwater or heating it up.

Xarel-lo

Xarello is the name of a Spanish grape variety. It is a light-colored wine grape variety with brown spots and a whitish, greenish appearance. This particular grape variety hails from Spain as well and is primarily grown in Catalonia.

Along with Parellada and Macabeo, Xarelo is one of the most popular varieties used to make Cava, a Spanish sparkling wine that complements the flavor of Gouda cheese.

Wine manufactured from Xarello has a stronger aroma and flavor than wine from the other two species.

Xiangjiao

Finally, something that is familiar yet in a different tongue may be found here! Banana is called Xiangjiao in Chinese. I think Xiangjiao is one of the most favored and well-known fruits in the entire world.

Unquestionably healthy, Xiangjiao is renowned for being high in the mineral potassium. It is available all year round and does not just grow during certain times of the year. In contrast to many other fruits, Xiangjiao continues to ripen after being picked.

This fruit is quite tasty and may be added to a variety of recipes and drinks. Bananas can be used in smoothies, cookies, muffins, crepes, cakes, and other delicacies. But take caution! In some people, xiangjiao may result in allergic reactions with outward symptoms like itching.

Xigua

Technically speaking, xigua can also be categorized as a cuisine that begins with the letter “W” since it is simply another name for watermelon, which is primarily grown in Africa. It shares few notable characteristics with other species of watermelon, though, and is generally comparable to them.

This fruit is a tasty delicacy with a lot of nutritious content. It is in the same family as cucumber and pumpkin. It is considered a regional specialty in the US. Unexpectedly, the Chinese word for “watermelon” is Xigua.

Ximenia Caffra

The sour plum, also known as Ximenia caffra, is a tropical fruit that is indigenous to southeast Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. It is a member of the Olacaceae family. It often has a sour flavor and a dry aftertaste and is high in potassium.

Ximenia coffee starts out green and matures to an orange or crimson color with a high level of tannins. They can be cooked to make sweets, jellies, and jams in addition to being consumed raw. Other names for Ximenia Caffra include Mtundakula, Suurpruim, and Amatu Nduluka.

Xinomavro

Another grape variety, called Xinomavro, is primarily found in the hilly areas of Macedonia, which is located in northern Greece.

The grape variety Xinomavro is regarded as one of the best for making wine. The gyro, another traditional Greek food, is frequently paired with wine made from this, which is very well-liked in Greece. If you’ve ever had wine from this region, it was presumably produced from Xinomavro grapes.

The words Xino and Mavro, which stand for “sour” for Xino and “black” for Mavro, are combined to form the name Xinomavro. Additionally, these grapes have powerful polyphenols and high acidity, so you will undoubtedly enjoy the aftertaste of their wine.

Xing Zi

The fruit Xing Zi, which translates to “Apricot” in Chinese, belongs to the Rosaceae family. Cherries, peaches, and plums are additional fruits in this family. Around the world, Xing Zi is grown in temperate regions, particularly in the Mediterranean.

Xoay

Xoay means “Velvet Tamarind” in Vietnamese. This type of legume belongs to the Fabaceae family. Most West African nations as well as Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, and Thailand are home to it.

Tropical, fruit-bearing Xoay trees are found in deep forests. The fruit is small, usually the size of a grape, edible, and has hard, inedible shells that are brown or black. Because it has a lot of fiber, it can lower your blood cholesterol levels.

Additionally, the Xoay tree’s bark and leaves have medicinal qualities and are used to treat a variety of illnesses. This fruit’s pulp can be eaten raw or used to make a drink by soaking it in water.

Xoconostle

A variety of the bitter prickly pear plant called Xoconostle is a member of the Opuntia matudae family. Xoconostle is a plant that develops at the points of cactus paddles, frequently in groups of up to twelve on a single paddle. It has a pointed form with a pear-like appearance.

The fruit is 4 to 5 centimeters in diameter and 5 to 7 centimeters in length. When ripe, its light green skin has a confused hue and a subtle pink blush.

Xoai

Vietnamese for “mango” is xoài. It is a well-known Asian tropical fruit. It is grown in most of the southern provinces of Vietnam. The best Xoài is made in this nation by residents of the Cao Lanh region of the ng Tháp province.

During the maturation process, Xoài requires a lot of intense sunlight. The developing fruit’s flavor and skin become richer and more vibrant as it receives more sunlight. In Vietnam, these foods with “X” as the starting are divided into several variants and are referred to as Xoài Cát, Xoài Tng, and Xoài Voi natively.

This fruit is particularly well-liked in Thailand since it can be found in the popular street snack Khaoniao Mamuang (Mango Sticky Rice), which consists of sticky rice with sliced Xoài and some coconut.
