Yi Da Qian was born on August 1, 1994, in Yiyang, Hunan, China. He has been attracted to acting and modeling since he was a child. After finishing primary school in his hometown, Yi Da Qian attended Guang Ming New District Senior High School before enrolling at Chong Qing University’s Department of Broadcasting.

The story begins in 626 C.E., at the start of Emperor Taizong’s reign as the second ruler of the Tang dynasty of the imperial House of Li. The series begins with palace tension caused by court intrigues and court ministers’ conflicting devotion to two royal brothers, Crown Prince Li Jiancheng and his younger brother, Li Shimin. Despite the royal brothers’ rivalry for the throne, their two daughters, Princess Yongning (Dilraba) and Leyan (Zhao Lusi), are great friends and treat each other like blood sisters. Li Shimin also adored Changge, treating her as his daughter and offering her training and schooling comparable to male royals. He also taught her advanced martial arts and warfare methods. One day, a successful palace coup occurs at the Xuanwu gate, killing Li Jiancheng, his five sons, and his wife. However, his lone daughter, Li Changge, escapes. Palace guards and ministers take an oath of allegiance to Li Shimin, who would later become Emperor Taizong. Changge disguises herself as a man to avoid the pursuing palace soldiers who are hellbent on capturing her for stealing the Crown Prince’s seal. In her quest for vengeance, she travels throughout the kingdom, seeking assistance from her father’s remaining allies in raising an army and overthrowing her uncle. On her way to the north of the country to seek refuge, she meets a handsome tribal prince named Ashile Sun (Wu Lei), the chief of the Eagle division of the Ashile tribe, which houses the tribe’s most elite troops and formidable cavalry. He is also the adoptive son and favorite of Yanli Khan (played by Jin Song), the leader of the Ashile tribe of the Eastern Turkic Khaganate. To conceal his true identity, he presents himself to Changge as A’Zhun (and she as Li Shisi). He also disguises himself as a merchant, traveling about the realm and selling products to spy on the imperial Tang’s military activity in major cities. While he initially thought Changge was a boy, he quickly realizes she is truly a female. A secret he withheld from his Ashile tribe to solve the puzzle of why she is being chased by palace guards. As he goes to his business of surreptitiously spying on Tang’s military operations, he becomes intrigued by Changge as they cross paths from town to town. He finally becomes her guardian from her tormentors as they travel from one location to another. He also discovers that she is the stowaway daughter of the deceased Crown Prince. After the treachery of Li Yuan in Youzhou, in whom Changge had placed her trust, she moves to the Shuo kingdom, where she gains the trust of Gongsun Heng, the feudal officer. Gongsun Heng hires her as a registrar and eventually as an army general after observing her exceptional military abilities and political expertise.
