It’s no wonder why injectable skin treatments continue to gain in popularity – treatments like Botox are a highly effective way to not only create a much more youthful appearance and not have to go under the knife, but they’re also a great to save a lot of money.
Dermal Fillers Aftercare Advice
With a few targeted injections, patients can experience a significant reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, the smoothing of deep creases as well as the restoration of lost volume, but it’s also true that a little bit of aftercare is required after the procedure.
In this article, we take a look at a few key points that you should keep in mind after you undergo an dermal filler skin treatment.
Consider your leisure activities
Injectable skin treatments such as Botox are some of the most common alternatives to cosmetic surgery in Sydney due to their comparative simplicity, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some considerations to make after the procedure.
The first thing you should keep in mind is avoiding the gym for a day or two after the procedure. Although many might be tempted to drop into the gym to ensure their body complements their refreshed face, intensive activity can actually increase the risk of bruising due to the elevated blood pressure that develops during and immediately after a workout.
To prevent this, it’s ideal to wait between 24 and 48 hours after your treatment to resume your typical exercise routines. If you’re one who loves relaxing after a day of work with a wine (be it bottle or glass), this too should be avoided in the days following a dermal filler procedure.
Alcohol is a blood thinner, so introducing it into your body can not only make you bleed more easily during the procedure, it can also influence the development of bruises during the healing stages after the procedure. To prevent this, it’s best to wait at least 24 hours after the procedure before you get back on the cocktails.
Double booking might lead to trouble
There are a couple of instances where you should try and avoid linking your healthy dermal filler procedure with other things. A good example of this is a facial, as a facial massage can very easily displace fillers before they have time to set, and it can also lead to some bruising.
You can still have a facial on the day of the procedure, just make sure to book it beforehand! If you want to have the facial afterwards, it should only take a couple of days for you to have a facial with the knowledge that it won’t mess your face up.
The same basic concept applies to your dentist appointment – although it might be tempting to get all of your appointments out of the way at the same time, the stretching and pressure applied by the dentist during your dental appointment can similarly cause your fillers to shift.
Take it easy after a dermal filler appointment
If there’s one thing that this article should make clear, it’s that you should relax for a couple of days after your dermal filler procedure.
This will not only ensure that you heal a lot faster and don’t have your fillers displaced, but it can give you a lot of peace of mind that recklessness in the name of productivity might cause.
For the wider range of options, skin treatments for a youthful glow surveys them.
