Quick and Effective Decor Changes You Can Make On A Budget

If you want to make a quick and effective decor change on a budget, then this is the guide for you. Here you will find out how you could make a positive change in no time at all. If you want to find out more then the only thing you have to do is take a look below.

Quick and Effective Decor Changes

Stencil Drawers

If you have a very old set of drawers, then why not try and spruce them up a bit? One thing you can do is try and add a stencil to them. Strip your furniture paint down and paint it by using some wood-based paint. You can then finish by adding your stencil. When using your stencil, it is wise to try and use a coarse-haired paintbrush.

The main reason for this is because it will go over the stencil much better. When you have done this, finish it with a clear matt varnish and then some leather handles. Remember, you can always buy discount furniture online if you want a change.

Update your Doors

If you have a display cabinet, then use some glass film to transform your plain cabinetry so it is up to date. You can use fluted glass film if you want to stop any scratches and chips from showing up. If you want to try something new, then why not give it a bit of a twist here by choosing a stained-glass pattern? When you do this, you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to get the cabinetry you’re going for.

Just make sure that you do not overcrowd any of the shelves inside. Use stacks of books or bowls instead as this will help you to create a lot of balance.

Highlight Great Features

It is so important that you highlight great features with some quality paint. A painted border will help you to draw attention to period door frames and you may even find that it is a great way for you to update your skirting boards too. If you already have a splash of color on the walls, then choose a much deeper shade instead. Use a spirit level or a ruler to draw a border and then use some decorative tape so you can get a nice edge.

Create a Gallery

Frame samples of any offcuts that you may have lying around and use a white mount if you want to go for a more formal effect. If possible, choose simple frames as they will be the focus and it will help you to mix up the patterns a bit. You can even use offcuts of random fabric if you do not have any wallpaper to hand, so be mindful of that.

At the end of the day, you need to make sure that you mix and match things where possible because if you can make sure you do this then you will be able to get the look you are going for, much more easily.
