Rimini, Italy

If you love soaking in everything the city has to offer and don’t mind large crowds, Rimini could be just the place you’re looking for. Situated in Northern Italy, this magical city is the epitome of the ideal Italian vacation resort.

Cross the Marecchia River using the impressive 2000-year-old Roman bridge – Tiberio Bridge (Ponte di Tiberio) – the oldest bridge of Rimini made entirely of Istrian marble. After that, head to Borgo San Giuliano, a small village located at the northern side of the famous bridge.

Dating back to the 11th century, this place was once a fishermen’s district, and it’s filled with charmingly colorful houses and small, narrow cobbled streets, which are ideal for snapping some exciting photos.

After a long day, head to Marina Centro, located at Marina di Rimini that lies on the Italian Adriatic coast. It’s a popular nightlife location brimming with exclusive clubs, and it’s something you definitely don’t want to miss.

For the ultimate vacation experience, it’s best that you visit Rimini in summer. This is the time of the year when most of the facilities are open and the weather is perfect, which helps capture the idyllic Rimini atmosphere.

Split, Croatia

Another popular destination on the Adriatic coast that you should definitely consider adding to your bucket list is Split. Located in central Dalmatia, Split is the second largest Croatian city, and a place with rich history.

For starters, Split is home to Diocletian’s Palace, which is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in 305 AD, the buildings of the Palace are intact and continue to be cherished and preserved.

This famous sightseeing spot is also the place that served as a filming site for the popular TV series Game of Thrones, so if you’re a fan, the Palace is definitely something worth exploring.

While in Split, take a stroll down the cobblestoned lanes of the Old Town of Split that surround the famous Palace and enjoy the numerous cafes and restaurants this tourist spot is brimming with.

While you’re there, head to the Zinfandel Wine bar to taste the Croatian wine, then go to Villa Spiza to sample some traditional Croatian food, ensuring a memorable and exquisite travel experience.

Zadar, Croatia

If there’s one place you should definitely visit while touring through Croatia, it has to be Zadar. A historic port situated on the Dalmatian coast, Zadar is a city that’s just as rich in history as it is in fun tourist sightseeing spots.

From multiple national parks and mountains to a multitude of Roman and Venetian ruins, there’s no shortage of amazing sightseeing spots in Zadar. Even its sunsets are something worth noting, since they manage to capture the attention of filmmakers such as Hitchcock back in 1964.

While the inland has plenty to offer, another exciting way to experience Zadar is to sail to one of the remote islands. Exploring the Mediterranean, which happens to be the most popular yachting area worldwide, is the ideal way to ensure an adventurous Croatia yachting experience and enjoy this amazing place sans the crowds.

Some of the best Croatian beaches are often just a short ride away from Zadar. Plus, there usually aren’t too many tourists (except in July and August), meaning you can enjoy Croatia’s natural beauty undisturbed.

Kotor, Montenegro

Kotor happens to be one of the most popular tourist destinations in Montenegro, and for good reason. Situated in Boka Bay, Kotor is one of the several locations in Montenegro that manage to capture the essence of what this amazing country has to offer, along with Tivat, Perast, and Herceg Novi.

Not only does the breathtaking bay offer a chance to experience the awe-inspiring Adratic coastline in all its glory and ensure a stunning view, but it also offers a powerful blend of nature, culture, and heritage for tourists to experience.

Since there’s a long list of interesting things to do in Kotor – both on land and in water – there’s no doubt that there are plenty of ways for tourists to fill their daily schedules.

From practicing water sports such as kayaking and canoeing to exploring the Old Town of Kotor during a walking tour to admiring Kotor Cathedral and Kotor Maritime Museum and taking day trips to Mount Lovcen, Cetinje, Stari Bar, and the Blue Cave, when it comes to this coastal city, there’s truly something for everybody.
