Pick NordVPN Basic if you only want a VPN. Pick Complete if you would also use an antivirus, a password manager and cloud storage, because in the Black Friday sale it costs only $0.40 a month more than Basic on the 2-year plan. Pick Complete Max only if you want a dedicated IP address included. All three include the same VPN and up to 10 devices.
The catch is renewal: after the first term, Complete costs $80.40 a year more than Basic. This guide compares the three plans using NordVPN’s own pricing page as we saw it on 29 October 2026, during its Black Friday sale, so you can choose with the real numbers. If you read this after the sale, check NordVPN’s current prices; the feature differences below do not depend on the sale. Long plans renew automatically at the yearly price shown unless you turn off auto-renewal.

NordVPN plan prices during the Black Friday sale
| Plan length | Basic | Complete | Complete Max |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 years + 3 months (paid today) | $94.23 ($3.49/mo) | $105.03 ($3.89/mo) | $159.03 ($5.89/mo) |
| 1 year + 3 months (paid today) | $73.35 ($4.89/mo) | $88.35 ($5.89/mo) | $116.85 ($7.79/mo) |
| 1 month | $14.69 | $19.49 | $21.49 |
| Renews at (after either long plan) | $139.08 a year | $219.48 a year | $301.08 a year |
The 2-year plan is the best value of the three lengths. Compare 27 months of Basic: the 2-year plan costs $94.23, while the 1-year plan plus one renewal year costs $73.35 + $139.08 = $212.43. That is $118.20 more for the same time. The gap is bigger for Complete ($202.80) and Complete Max ($258.90).

NordVPN Basic: for people who only want a VPN
Basic gives you the same VPN as the other plans (NordVPN lists the same “secure, high-speed VPN” in all three) and up to 10 devices, plus scam and phishing protection and basic dark web monitoring for up to 5 email addresses. It is the cheapest plan to keep after the first term, at $139.08 a year.
Choose Basic if you already use another antivirus and password manager, or you just want a VPN for travel and public Wi-Fi.
NordVPN Complete: the plan NordVPN calls “most popular”
Complete adds an antivirus, an ad and tracker blocker, email, call and message protection, a password manager, 1 TB of encrypted cloud storage and wider dark web monitoring. The 78% Black Friday discount in NordVPN’s banner applies to this plan. Note how NordVPN measures it: the page says “Savings: intro vs. renewal prices”, so the discount is worked out against 27 months at the renewal price ($219.48 a year), not against the 1-month price.
On the 2-year plan, Complete costs $10.80 more than Basic for the whole 27 months. That is a small price if you would use even one of the extras. The bigger difference comes later: Complete renews at $219.48 a year, against $139.08 for Basic. Before your first term ends, check whether you still use the extras, because the renewal price is much higher.

NordVPN Complete Max: only if you want a dedicated IP
Complete Max has everything in Complete, plus a dedicated IP address included in the price. A dedicated IP is a fixed (static) IP address assigned to you. NordVPN says it helps you reach banking and other websites without having to keep proving you are human.
On the 2-year plan it costs $54.00 more than Complete for the 27 months, and it renews at $81.60 a year more. On Basic and Complete you can add a dedicated IP at checkout instead. NordVPN’s pricing page didn’t show that add-on’s price, so compare the two totals at checkout before you choose Complete Max.
Which NordVPN plan should you buy?
- Just a VPN: Basic, 2-year plan ($94.23 for 27 months).
- VPN plus antivirus and a password manager: Complete, 2-year plan ($105.03). Worth it if you would otherwise pay for those tools separately.
- You need a fixed IP for banking or sites that keep asking you to prove you are human: Complete Max, or Basic or Complete with the dedicated IP add-on, whichever totals less at checkout.
- A trip or a short need: the 1-month plan ($14.69 for Basic) costs more per month but commits you to less.

Whichever plan you choose, NordVPN gives a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first purchase made directly with NordVPN. It does not cover renewals, and purchases made through the Apple App Store follow Apple’s refund rules instead.
