Black Friday VPN deals have already started. On 29 October 2026, NordVPN’s pricing page showed a Black Friday offer of up to 78% off a 2-year plan plus 3 extra months, and Surfshark showed a Black Friday deal from $2.49 a month for 27 months. Private Internet Access (PIA) and CyberGhost were still running Halloween offers (up to 83% and 82% off), and Proton VPN showed a 2-year discount with no Black Friday banner.
The headline price is only half the story. Every deal below is a long prepaid plan that renews automatically, often at a higher price, and for most of these VPNs the money-back guarantee is meant for your first purchase, not renewals. This page lists what each official pricing page showed us, what you pay after the first term, and how refunds work, so you can compare deals honestly. We will update it as Black Friday offers change.

Black Friday VPN deals at a glance
Prices below are what each VPN’s own pricing page showed on 29 October 2026, in US dollars where the page showed dollars. Your price can differ by country, and sales tax or VAT may be added at checkout.

| CyberGhost | Halloween deal: 82% off the 2-year plan | 2 years + 2 extra months (no dollar price shown to us) | Renews every year at the amount you paid for the first 2 years (shown in local currency) | 45 days (14 days on monthly plans) |
How we checked: on 29 October 2026 we opened each VPN’s own pricing page and its terms of service or money-back page, and copied the prices and rules exactly as shown. We did not use deal sites or affiliate pages. NordVPN, Surfshark and Proton VPN showed US dollars; PIA and CyberGhost showed our local currency (Indian rupees), so we give their discounts, plan lengths and renewal terms but not a dollar price. ExpressVPN’s site did not load for us that day. We will recheck everything in November.
NordVPN Black Friday deal
NordVPN’s pricing page carried a Black Friday banner offering 78% off and 3 extra months. All three 2-year plans include the extra months, so you prepay for 27 months:
| Plan | Per month | Paid today (27 months) | Renews at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic (VPN) | $3.49 | $94.23 | $139.08 a year |
| Complete (adds antivirus, password manager, 1 TB storage) | $3.89 | $105.03 | $219.48 a year |
| Complete Max (adds a dedicated IP) | $5.89 | $159.03 | $301.08 a year |
The 78% figure is for Complete. If you only want the VPN, Basic is the cheaper buy, but note the jump at renewal: $139.08 a year is about $11.59 a month. For more on the service itself, see our NordVPN review.

Surfshark Black Friday deal
Surfshark’s pricing page showed “Grab our Black Friday deal” and labelled its Surfshark One plan as the Black Friday deal. On the 24-month term, all plans add 3 extra months:
- Starter: $2.49 a month, $67.23 for the first 27 months (87% off).
- One: $2.49 a month, $67.23 for the first 27 months (88% off), the same price as Starter on this offer.
- One+: $3.99 a month, $107.73 for the first 27 months (83% off).
Surfshark’s page does not show the renewal price as a number. Its FAQ says only that you will be charged “the applicable renewal price” and that the 2-year plan then renews yearly. Check the renewal figure at checkout before you pay. Surfshark allows unlimited devices on one account.
Proton VPN, PIA and CyberGhost
- Proton VPN: no Black Friday banner when we checked. VPN Plus on the 2-year plan was $3.49 a month ($83.76 for 24 months), then $83.88 a year. Proton Unlimited (VPN plus Mail, Pass, Drive and Calendar) was $191.76 for 24 months, then $119.88 a year. Of the two VPNs whose pages showed a renewal price in US dollars, Proton’s was lower.
- Private Internet Access: a Halloween offer of up to 83% off its 3-year plan with 3 extra months. In our local currency, the page showed this plan renewing automatically every 3 years. PIA allows unlimited devices.
- CyberGhost: a Halloween deal of 82% off its 2-year plan with 2 extra months. Watch the renewal: the page showed it renewing every year at the amount you pay for the first 2 years. It has the longest refund window here: 45 days on 6-month and longer plans.
Offers can change in November: PIA’s site already links to a “Black Friday VPN Deals” page. We can’t say in advance whether prices will drop further. If a current offer already suits you, buying now is reasonable, because you can still ask for a refund within the money-back window.

What a deal really costs over about 3 years
A fair way to compare is the first term plus at least one renewal year. Here is that cost for the plans whose renewal price was shown in US dollars:
| Plan | First term + 1 renewal year | Months covered | Average per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| NordVPN Basic | $94.23 + $139.08 = $233.31 | 39 | about $5.98 |
| NordVPN Complete | $105.03 + $219.48 = $324.51 | 39 | about $8.32 |
| NordVPN Complete Max | $159.03 + $301.08 = $460.11 | 39 | about $11.80 |
| Proton VPN Plus | $83.76 + $83.88 = $167.64 | 36 | about $4.66 |
| Proton Unlimited | $191.76 + $119.88 = $311.64 | 36 | about $8.66 |
Over this period, Proton VPN Plus works out cheapest per month of the plans we could calculate, even though NordVPN Basic and Proton VPN Plus cost the same $3.49 a month at the start.
How to tell if a Black Friday VPN deal is good
- Look at the total, not the monthly price. “$2.49 a month” on a 27-month plan means paying about $67 today.
- Find the renewal price. This is what you pay after the first term ends. A deal with a low renewal price can be cheaper over time than a bigger discount.
- Count the extra months. “+3 months” lowers the monthly figure but also pushes the renewal date further out.
- Add tax. NordVPN and Surfshark both note that tax may be added at checkout.
- Check the refund window. Most give 30 days; CyberGhost gives 45 on long plans. NordVPN, Surfshark and Proton limit the guarantee to your first purchase (NordVPN makes an exception for renewals in Germany, the Netherlands and the UK). PIA’s order page says new subscribers only, but its terms also mention renewals, so ask before you count on it.
- Buy on the VPN’s own site. With most of these VPNs, app store and marketplace purchases are refunded under the store’s rules (Surfshark still covers Google Play sign-ups).
- Set a reminder. Long plans renew automatically. Put the renewal date in your calendar and decide then.

Which deal suits you?
- Lowest price today: Surfshark Starter or One ($67.23 for 27 months), but check the renewal price at checkout.
- Lowest renewal shown in US dollars: Proton VPN Plus ($83.88 a year after the first 2 years). PIA and CyberGhost showed their renewal prices in local currency only, so we can’t compare them.
- Longest time to change your mind: CyberGhost (45 days on long plans).
- VPN plus extras such as antivirus and a password manager: NordVPN Complete ($105.03 for 27 months).
None of the pages we checked gave an end date for its offer. We will recheck these deals in November and update this page.
Are lifetime VPN deals worth it?
Be careful. None of the five VPNs in this list showed a lifetime plan on the pricing pages we saw; their longest plans were 2 to 3 years plus extra months. If you see a lifetime offer, check who is selling it. Purchases from marketplaces and resellers are refunded under the seller’s terms; NordVPN’s terms name StackSocial as one such seller. Before you buy any lifetime plan, check who runs the VPN, how long it has existed and what “lifetime” covers.
Do you need a paid VPN at all?
Maybe not. Proton VPN has a free plan: 1 device at a time, medium speed, servers in 10 countries (randomly selected) and no credit card needed. For light use, a trustworthy free plan may be enough. Read our guide to whether free VPNs are safe first. If you want to protect a whole household, see VPNs and multiple devices or VPN routers.

Frequently asked questions
When do Black Friday VPN deals start?
Some start well before Black Friday itself. NordVPN and Surfshark already showed Black Friday offers on 29 October 2026, while PIA and CyberGhost were running Halloween offers.
What is the cheapest Black Friday VPN deal?
Of the dollar prices we could check on 29 October 2026, Surfshark Starter and One were lowest: $67.23 for 27 months ($2.49 a month). Of the renewal prices shown in dollars, Proton’s was lowest.
Can I get a refund on a Black Friday VPN deal?
Yes, within the money-back window: 30 days for NordVPN, Surfshark, Proton VPN and PIA, and 45 days for CyberGhost’s longer plans. For most of these VPNs the guarantee covers your first purchase, not renewals; NordVPN makes an exception for renewals in Germany, the Netherlands and the UK, and PIA’s terms also mention renewals. App store purchases usually follow the store’s refund rules.
Does the Black Friday price apply when the plan renews?
Usually not. The discount covers the first term. NordVPN Basic, for example, costs $94.23 for 27 months and then renews at $139.08 a year.
Is a 2-year VPN plan worth it?
On the pages we checked, the longest plan had the lowest monthly price. It suits you if you already know you will use a VPN regularly. You pay the full amount up front. If it doesn’t suit you, ask for a refund within the money-back window.
Is there a Proton VPN Black Friday deal?
Not when we checked on 29 October 2026. Proton’s pricing page showed a 2-year discount (VPN Plus at $3.49 a month). We will update this page if a Black Friday offer appears.
