In the Thai BL film Dew, a tragic high school love story is told. Two young people who are in love and reside in a tiny town that is homophobic are the primary characters. The young pair must tread carefully as their acquaintance develops into a covert relationship because of the animosity of their narrow-minded families. The second part of the movie takes place years later and explores a very different dynamic in relationships. The year is 1996. Teenage Dew and his mother relocate to a rural town. He makes friends with Pob, a fellow student at his school. After taking a trip on Pob’s motorbike, Dew and Pob collide and get their school clothes soiled. Their friendship is founded on this accident, and they keep in contact even after it happened. Pob and Dew spend all of their alone time together and become good friends. Dew and Pob participate in an essay contest. The two teenagers find the idea of going to New Zealand to go bungee jumping exciting. Pob also instructs Dew in motorbike riding. But these teachings irritate Dew, and they argue as a result. Later that evening, as the two friends had a private conversation in a phone booth, Pob apologizes.
Dew and Pob have a love relationship. They exercise caution, nevertheless, while handling their emotions in this tiny hamlet. The members of Pob’s family are narrow-minded, particularly his harsh and homophobic father. Pob begins to distance himself from Dew to allay concerns. Dew confronts him in a violent dispute at school after becoming agitated by their estrangement. Unfortunately, they get into difficulty because of their public exchange. Pob’s connection with his dad rapidly deteriorates shortly after that. His home life takes a nosedive, resulting in several tears and conflicts. Pob wants to flee from home with Dew since he can no longer handle the stress. The two teenagers had to make a crucial choice that evening between sticking by their family or each other.
