Mickey says in the interview that he is a “natural born killer,” which encourages other prisoners to instigate a riot. Mickey is left alone with Gale, the film crew, and a few guards when McClusky ends the interview. He manages to overcome one of the guards and kill the majority of the people in the room, taking Gale and a few others prisoner. A live television broadcast profiling the riot is presented by Gale and his team. Scagnetti tries to woo Mallory in her cell in the meanwhile. She replies by giving him a severe beating, to which another guard uses tear gas to restrain her. When Mickey and Gale get to Mallory’s cell, Mickey kills the guards and holds Scagnetti hostage until Mallory kills him.
