About Learn
This section covers two different appetites, and it is more useful once you know which one you are in.
The first is study and academic help: preparing for board exams, college applications and essays, choosing between online and traditional study, referencing conventions such as APA style, and the reasons students avoid writing in the first place. Much of it is written with Indian and international students in mind.
The second is plain curiosity – the general-knowledge end of the site. The world’s most venomous snakes, the classical dance forms of India, animal intelligence, and history told from an outsider’s point of view. These are reference pieces, written to be looked up rather than studied.
The two halves share a preference for explanation over summary: enough detail to actually understand the thing, and no pretence that a list is the same as knowledge.
Within the study half, exam preparation is by far the largest subject, followed by choosing and applying to a college, and then writing itself — essays, referencing, and the reasons people stall before starting. Language learning has its own steady thread. On the curiosity side the recurring subjects are natural history, where the animal pieces sit, and history proper, often told from an outside perspective rather than the national one.
Both halves lean toward readers for whom English is a second language and the material is a means to an end – an exam, an application, a piece of writing that has to be handed in. The writing tries to be plain for that reason, not because the subjects are simple.
What it avoids is the homework-answer genre. The point of an article here is that you can do the next one without it — so working through a method is preferred to supplying a result, even when that is slower to read.
For career and workplace learning, Business is the better section; for technical skills, try Tech.
