Do you seem to get seasick every single time you set foot on a boat?

Seasickness is one of the worst feelings in the world. Regardless of whether you’re on a small fishing boat or a huge cruise ship, it can make it hard for you to enjoy yourself.

How to Not Get Seasick

The good news is that seasickness will disappear for most people the second they step off a boat and get back on land. But that won’t do you much good when you’re trying to enjoy a fishing trip or a cruise.

Here are some tips on how to not get seasick the next time you’re out on the water.

1] Make Sure You’re Well Rested Before Getting on a Boat

If you’re dead tired when you get onto a boat, you’re often going to be at an increased risk of developing seasickness. It’s why you should get a good night’s sleep before going on a boat of any kind.

You should also drink plenty of fluids prior to getting on a boat. It might help you to avoid seasickness or, at the very least, reduce the symptoms associated with it.

2] Take Motion Sickness Medicine Prior to Boarding a Boat

If you know that you’re prone to seasickness, it never hurts to take a motion sickness medicine prior to boarding a boat. Something like Dramamine can work wonders for those who get sick while on boats.

Keep a box of it handy anytime you’re going to be spending any time on a boat. It could save you from getting seasick and allow you to enjoy yourself more than you would otherwise.

3] Stay Near the Middle of a Boat Once You Set Sail Whenever Possible

If you’re on a very small boat, staying in the middle won’t do you much good. But if you’re on a cruise ship, staying in a cabin near the middle of the boat where it’s nice and stable could benefit you in a big way.

Those planning cruises at the moment should consider booking a cabin on the inside of a ship to steer clear of seasickness. 2020 cruises are the ones you’ll want to plan for right now.

4] Keep Your Eyes on the Horizon If You Start to Feel Seasick

No matter how much time you spend trying to figure out how to not get seasick, you might still get seasick the next time you’re on a boat. Don’t panic!

You might be able to stave off seasickness by looking out at the horizon. Many people swear by it and say it’s a reliable method for making the symptoms associated with seasickness go away.

5] Knowing How to Not Get Seasick Can Keep You Out on the Water Longer

If you love spending time out on the water, there is nothing worse than seasickness. It can prevent you from doing what you enjoy.

Learn how to not get seasick and get back to enjoying the water again. You might be surprised to see how well the tips listed here really work.
