Omega

Omega has always used accuracy and cultural influence as its compass points. In La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, a modest watchmaker by the name of Louis Brandt established his small watchmaking business known as “Louis Brandt & Fils” in 1848. That seed needed more than 45 years to develop and be nurtured by Louis Brandt’s sons, Louis Paul, and Cesar.

The two brothers recognized the potential in the inventions their father had made, so they relocated the business to Bienne, Switzerland, where they produced the movement that would alter everything: an incredibly appropriate (for the time) movement that allowed the wearer to manually wind the watch and set the time from the main crown.

Audemars Piguet
