What After JEE Main Result?

What After JEE Main Result

Thousands of students all over India strive to hit the JEE jackpot and pass the exam, pinning their hopes to get admissions into the prestigious IITs. However, only a few of the lot are able to make it through the IITs, since they space up an approximate of only 11,000 engineering students every year.

The other 25,000 seats are up for grabs through NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs respectively. Not being able to make it to the IITs doesn’t mean that there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

You can find out other rewarding options after JEE Main by visiting jeemains.in and see your career life through a new prism. Here are some of the career choices you can consider making after you’ve cracked JEE Main.

Admission in IITs

IITs are surely the Mecca for all engineering students. IITs are famous for putting emphasis on gaining practical knowledge in their institutions.

Not only do they give assignments stimulating students towards more brainstorming activities, but they are also renowned for the open and candid interactions between teachers and students. If you have got the required rank, head straightaway for an IIT and see your career soar to new heights in utmost assurity.

Admission in NITs

Sulk not if you haven’t got the required rank to get you to the doorway to admission in IITs. Most of the NITs are considered to be at par with their counterparts.

Over the years, NITs have certainly tried hard to bring their syllabus, assignments, projects, and infrastructure to the level of IITs.

Below is a list of the top 5 NITs as per the NIRF 2021 ranking.

Name State NIRF Ranking
NIT Trichy Tamil Nadu 09
NIT Karnataka Karnataka 10
NIT Rourkela Odisha 20
NIT Warangal Telangana 23
NIT Calicut Kerala 25

So, rather than being gloomy over not getting admitted to an IIT, pull yourself up to embark upon the opportunity of an NIT coming your way and strive to make your dreams a reality.

IIITs, GFTIs, and Government Colleges

After JEE Main, there are one too many other career avenues also available to be able to choose from. You can visit career counselors for guidance to unanimously get an answer favoring IIITs, GFTIs, or other government colleges.

The 25 IIITs in India are autonomous and are well known for offering industry-relevant courses in engineering. Following is the list of top IIITs as per the NIRF 2021 ranking.

Name State NIRF Ranking
IIIT Hyderabad Telangana 54 out of 200
IIIT Bangalore Karnataka 76 out of 300
IIIT Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh 80 out of 300

GFTIs and other government colleges have also been quite instrumental in bringing quality engineering education to the students, providing cost-effective courses to the economically backward lot in India.

NTA allows an aspirant to appear for the exam twice. Of course, the first attempt  becomes a good learning experience and helps you focus on the key areas you need to improve work upon. Also, enrolling in private coaching can be of great help.

Private Universities

There are many private institutions with state-of-the-art lab facilities, industry-standard course syllabus, and industry veterans as faculties that provide quality education on par with IITs and NITs.

These universities have their own entrance exams and selection criteria. Although education comes for a higher price at these institutions, they are second to none as far as quality education is concerned.

Gaining quality education and achieving a dream job is very much within everyone’s reach. Whether it is an IIT or NIT, or any other private institution, there are some common factors that must be considered by one aspiring to take admissions in these institutions.
