Two kinds of travel writing sit here, and the practical kind is the stronger.

The first is planning, weighted toward India: when Kerala is actually worth visiting rather than when it is cheapest, weekends reachable from Mumbai, and first-time guides to places like Australia where the practicalities catch people out.

The second, and more unusual, is passenger rights. What you are owed when a flight is delayed and how to handle a cancellation are the kind of thing most travel sites skip because it is not aspirational. They are among the most useful pages here, because they are read at an airport by someone who needs an answer in the next ten minutes.

The tone avoids the bucket-list register. Destinations are described in terms of season, cost and effort, and the section is comfortable saying a place is not worth the journey at a particular time of year.
