Business Name Generators

Michael Austin

Name generators for specific trades and industries, each built on its own vocabulary — a bakery generator draws on crumb, oven and rise, a construction generator on girder, keystone and rivet. Filter by tone, style and length, save the names you like, and check availability yourself before you commit.

    Recently used

      • Startup Name GeneratorGenerate startup names that follow the conventions the sector actually uses: short, one word where possible, easy to spell after hearing it once, and viable as a domain.
      • SaaS Name GeneratorGenerate names for software products, built from the vocabulary the category actually uses — decks, boards, flows, ledgers, signals — rather than generic business words.
      • App Name GeneratorGenerate app names short enough to survive an app-store listing and a home-screen label.
      • Online Store Name GeneratorGenerate names for an online shop of any kind, drawing on retail vocabulary — market, trove, depot, parcel, emporium — rather than generic business words.
      • Shopify Store Name GeneratorGenerate Shopify store names that work as a myshopify subdomain, a custom domain and a storefront heading at once.
      • Etsy Shop Name GeneratorGenerate Etsy shop names from handmade-craft vocabulary — thread, kiln, bramble, thimble, sprig — with the platform's constraints in mind: no spaces, twenty characters, letters and numbers only.
      • Digital Marketing Agency Name GeneratorGenerate names for a digital marketing agency using words the field actually owns — reach, signal, funnel, lift, trace — instead of the interchangeable "solutions" and "media group" pattern.
      • Creative Agency Name GeneratorGenerate creative agency and studio names, leaning toward the distinctive and abstract rather than the descriptive — a studio name is a portfolio piece in its own right.
      • Restaurant Name GeneratorGenerate restaurant names from kitchen and dining vocabulary — hearth, table, grill, cellar, board — with a tone control that moves the results between homely, classic and fine-dining.
      • Cafe Name GeneratorGenerate cafe and coffee shop names from coffee-house vocabulary — grind, crema, roast, saucer, pour — kept deliberately separate from restaurant naming, because the two barely overlap.
      • Bakery Name GeneratorGenerate bakery names built from baking words — crumb, tart, oven, rise, dough, mill — rather than generic food vocabulary.
      • Food Truck Name GeneratorGenerate food truck names that work at a distance and at speed — short, high contrast, easy to shout across a car park.
      • Salon Name GeneratorGenerate hair and nail salon names from salon vocabulary — shear, curl, parlour, chair, braid — with a tone control that moves between friendly local and high-end.
      • Beauty Brand Name GeneratorGenerate beauty and skincare brand names, leaning toward the short, soft-sounding and premium — the conventions this category has settled on.
      • Jewelry Business Name GeneratorGenerate jewellery business names from the trade's own vocabulary — facet, carat, clasp, filigree, setting — rather than generic luxury words.
      • Clothing Brand Name GeneratorGenerate clothing and fashion brand names, covering everything from streetwear to tailoring depending on the tone you choose.
      • Real Estate Business Name GeneratorGenerate names for an estate agency or property business, drawing on property vocabulary — threshold, manor, terrace, haven, keystone — instead of the interchangeable surname-and-partners pattern.
      • Real Estate Project Name GeneratorGenerate names for a property development or residential scheme — a different task from naming the agency that sells it.
      • Construction Company Name GeneratorGenerate construction and building company names from trade vocabulary — girder, trowel, keystone, rivet, bedrock — rather than generic business words.
      • Photography Business Name GeneratorGenerate photography business and studio names from photographic vocabulary — aperture, frame, negative, print, portrait — with a tone control for everything from wedding work to editorial.
      • Travel Agency Name GeneratorGenerate travel agency and tour company names from travel vocabulary — compass, horizon, waypoint, voyage, trail — instead of generic business words.
      • Fitness Brand Name GeneratorGenerate gym, studio and fitness brand names from training vocabulary — rep, grit, anvil, summit, forge — with a tone control that moves between hard-edged and calm.
      • Consulting Business Name GeneratorGenerate consulting and advisory business names that sound credible without collapsing into the "solutions group" pattern every consultancy shares.
      • Technology Company Name GeneratorGenerate technology company names from technical vocabulary — array, lattice, kernel, beacon, circuit — kept distinct from the startup and SaaS pages, which follow different conventions.
      • AI Company Name GeneratorGenerate names for an AI or machine-learning company using the field's own vocabulary — tensor, vector, cortex, signal, weave — rather than bolting "AI" onto a generic word.
      • Coworking Space Name GeneratorGenerate coworking and studio space names from workspace vocabulary — loft, bench, perch, hive, table — rather than generic property words.
      • Course Name GeneratorGenerate names for an online course, cohort or workshop — path, ladder, playbook, blueprint, roadmap.
      • Newsletter Name GeneratorGenerate newsletter and publication names from editorial vocabulary — brief, digest, dispatch, margin, column, roundup.

      Frequently asked questions

How are these different from a generic business name generator?

Each one is built on its own hand-picked vocabulary rather than a shared word list with a different label on the page. A bakery generator reaches for crumb, tart, oven and rise; a jewellery generator for facet, clasp, carat and filigree; a SaaS generator for decks, boards, ledgers and signals. That is the whole reason there are twenty-eight of them rather than one.

My trade is not listed. Which should I use?

Pick the closest neighbour and use the keyword box to pull your own vocabulary in – a word for your material, your place, your method or your founder. Failing that, the Business Name Generator draws on broad commercial vocabulary and the style and tone controls do the narrowing. Neither approach is worse; the industry tools simply save you supplying the words yourself.

Do these check company registers or trademarks?

No. None of these tools checks any register, and none of them ever suggests a name is free to use. For a real business the checks that matter are usually local first – a similarly named competitor in your own town causes misdirected enquiries, confused reviews and map problems that no amount of design fixes – then the wider registers. Take proper advice before spending money on branding.

What does the tone control actually change?

It shifts which words the generator reaches for first, which changes the character of the results without removing any industry vocabulary. Filtering by tone instead would leave too few words to build a full set of distinct names from, and the tool would return six results and look broken. Tone is a bias, not a filter.

Why do I sometimes get fewer names than I asked for?

A filter has narrowed the search further than the vocabulary can satisfy – most often "Must contain" combined with a short length limit and a high minimum quality score. When that happens the tool tells you how many it found rather than quietly returning a short list. Widening the length, lowering the minimum score, or setting the style back to "Any style" usually fixes it.

Are these names safe to use for a real business?

They are candidates to investigate, not cleared names. A generated name has been checked for how it sounds and reads, and for nothing else – not whether somebody already trades under it, holds the domain, or has registered it as a trademark in your category. Shortlist here, then verify properly before you commit to signage, packaging or a print run.

Is what I type kept private?

Yes. Everything runs in your browser, nothing you type is uploaded, and saved names live only in your own browser's storage. An unannounced business idea typed into the keyword box does not leave your machine.
