History of Six Flags Locations

In addition to expanding to 11 additional states and developing theme parks in Mexico and Canada, Six Flags first launched in Texas in 1961. What led the most exciting company to spread its locations across North America, and where did it all start?

According to the website of Six Flags, everything began in the 1950s, when Disneyland first opened its doors. Angus G. Wynne Jr. visited Disneyland and had a vision to build a more exhilarating attraction. In his native state of Texas, he desired to build something as outstanding and thrilling.

Then, Six Flags Over Texas opened its doors in 1961, making that fantasy a reality. These parks prioritized family entertainment.
