A blog comment link is a hyperlink placed either on the commenter’s name or inside the comment text. Whether that link can pass ranking value depends on the rel attribute the blog adds to it.

  • rel=”ugc”: introduced by Google in September 2019 for user-generated content. Google’s documentation on qualifying outbound links recommends marking links in comments and forum posts with ugc.
  • rel=”nofollow”: the original attribute, first suggested in 2005 to stop comment spam on blogs. Google says to use it when you would rather not associate your site with, or crawl, the linked page.
  • rel=”sponsored”: for advertisements and paid placements. It does not apply to ordinary comments.

WordPress builds commenter links with the ugc value and adds external and nofollow for links to other sites, according to the WordPress developer reference for get_comment_author_link. In practice, that means most “dofollow blog commenting sites” lists are describing an exception, not the norm.

Google announced in September 2019 that from March 1, 2020 it would treat nofollow, sponsored and ugc as hints rather than directives for crawling and indexing. A hint is not a guarantee of ranking credit, so comment links remain a weak signal at best.

  • Some addresses have moved or gone quiet. The Kissmetrics blog address now permanently redirects to Neil Patel’s blog, and Matt Cutts’s blog showed a most recent post dated August 2023 when checked in September 2026.
  • Some entries repeat. Several domains appear twice or three times across the three lists, so the real number of unique sites is lower than the row count.

Before commenting anywhere, check that the blog still publishes, that comments are open, that recent posts get approved comments, and that the topic matches your own site.

A comment link’s status can be checked in any desktop browser.

  1. Open a blog post that already has approved comments.
  2. Right-click a commenter’s name and choose Inspect.
  3. Look at the rel attribute on the highlighted link. Values such as ugc, nofollow or external nofollow ugc mean the link is qualified.
  4. If the link has no rel attribute (or only noopener), it is a followed link.
  5. Note the result in your tracking sheet so you do not have to check the same blog twice.

Blog comments count as link spam when they exist mainly to place optimized links. Google’s spam policies, last updated in August 2026, give forum comments with optimized links in the post or signature as an example of link spam, and list comment spam on blogs under user-generated spam.

Warning signs that a comment would be treated as spam include keyword-rich anchor text instead of a name, several links in one comment, generic praise that could fit any post, and the same text pasted across many sites.     Thanks for sharing this list. Really helpful for me. I am just new to this kind of work. backlinks, blog commenting. After a couple of approved comments and after digging deep, you get into sites that often times, don’t even show your comments to show whether it’s awaiting admin moderation or if it was automatically approved. This list, I keep coming back, at least it’s a start. more often than not, on these lists I find sites that you only have to wait a few days and your comments get approved, or better yet, they approve it automatically. But in case, I need to find a niche specific blogsite, is there a right way you can suggest on searching them through google? I am currently looking for technology, cameras, mobile phone specific at the moment. Thank you so much!

    I have recently found your “new” list of dofollow blogs. I’m sorry to say that it is not accurate at all. A few sites I personally know are not dofollow, and a lot of the rest I have checked right now. Don’t mislead your readers!
    To make a site dofollow, the owner needs to want his site to be “dofollow”.

    I quickly skimmed the first 20-30 sites and can tell you that many of those I go to regularly and are NOT DoFollow. QuickSprout sure isn’t, dailyblogtips.com isn’t and that’s the first one on the list. I would imagine most of these sites do not have DoFollow blog commenting.

    Yup Some are Dofollow and some sites are Nofollow.

    Hi, thank for the commenting list, but how do you know that all blog are do follow. I try to comment on the blog in list but there are have tag rel no follow external. I found 30 websites only from this list they provide dofollow..

    Hi Harshil. Thank you for posting this great resource. Do you (or someone else on here) mind answering a few quick questions?

    1) For a site like Politico – can you make a comment on any article within that site or does it need to specifically be on a piece from their blog? 2) How can you tell if you have received a do-follow link? I have the Moz tool for Chrome but it doesn’t evaluate links within comment sections. 3) Does the link need to be within the comment itself or does there need to be a box asking you to fill in your website as is the case with this page?

    Just came across this blog commenting sites list. A very informative post and quite a few on the high pr commenting list that I hadn’t seen. Have bookmarked this and will share with my clients. Thanks.

    Although page rank has less of a factor today than it did say 3 years ago, it is still important. Quality over quantity is key today. We also shouldn’t put all our trust to the search engines either. Utilizing the traffic and customers we already have is where the money is. Collect and manage those customers more effectively and you will see better results.

    Of course, No Follow sites should be used but in a slightly different way. Get your links in appropriately and reap the benefits by having an opt-in form and a freebie on your site and gather emails.

    It is also important to say that the effort we all put into getting good quality backlinks is rewarded and not simply wasted. Ensuring that you are only going for backlinks from sites that are relevant to your own niche, product or service is key. No point in getting a backlink from a PR8 Medical website if your own site is selling ladies pink handbags. Google will catch on and you will alienate your visitors. Also very important that the traffic that a backlink generates to your own site is of course captured, funneled and managed correctly once it arrives to maximize your profit potential. Your list is your profit and your pension, as they say.

    I am confused about Dofollow links. I have seen many lists on internet giving tons of Dofollow links. But None of them are Dofollow, Same is with the list displayed here. According to my knowledge if the site puts the link with rel=nofollow or rel=”external nofollow” it is a no follow link and not counted by the the google. I have checked many of the links above and I found rel=nofollow or rel=”external nofollow”. Correct me if I am wrong. Because I myself want to find the dofollow blogs. Are the really existing

    Since PR (Page Rank) is given by google, it always trust sites which get backlinks from high pr. But getting dofollow is awesome. Since we need not to work harder to get backlinks from these list. Because it is just by commenting.
